T-boy

2pm - After a 4 hour drive home from Scotland T-boy is finally home. T-boy is a rosetted brown spotted Bengal bred by purebliss. He was very quiet on the way home, and doesn't seem to have much to say for himself once here.

He has to go into isolation for a month unfortunately, but we've given him a good cuddle and settled him into his chalet. He keeps pushing his head into us, so we keep picking him up and give him a really good massage and cuddle. then he runs away, has a good look around, then comes back and does it again.
He loves his food, and thoroughly enjoyed tucking into his meal.

We will have the vet take a look at him next week as he needs bloods taking and stool samples and swabs.
we will let you know how he gets on with his tests.

christmas dinner

Saturday
Up and out early this morning as we are having Vicky and Katey (daughters) home for a Christmas dinner. i know that sounds strange but Tim and i love turkey and all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding.
11am turkey in the oven then the lunchtime feeds for the kittens need to be done before our girls arrive. cooked chicken chopped finely in chicken juices for the weaning kittens and chicken legs (washed) for the older kittens. They love it!
clean out the mums and their kittens whilst Tim carries on cleaning/mucking out the rest of the cats at Purebliss.

slough tica show

Sunday 14 Feb '09
5pm First bath - Purebliss Renegade is put into the warm water and soaped up all over. he is very well behaved although a little confused. then a good rinse with warm water and towelled dry. then out with the hairdryer.
Katey arrives and we put Purebliss Optimus Prime (Timmy) into some nice warm water and soap him up all over. then a good rinse, towel dry and onto the hairdryer.
what good boys they are, a good brushing and a run around the kitchen whilst we have a slice of buttered toast each.
into their carriers and pack up the car with everything for the show.
6pm Set off for the slough TICA show.

Arrive at slough and park up. everything onto the trolley including renegade and Timmy.
give our names to poppi and then vetting in. allocated areas (we brought our sturdi pens), we go find our places for Timmy and renegade. Once unpacked we show Timmy and renegade around so that they don't worry about what is going on behind everything. they soon settle down and go back into their pens whilst we have bacon baps and a coffee/tea.

say hello to many of our friends we haven't seen since the last show or even a show last year. make some new friends who have come to their first tica show.
found out that Razzmatazz was at show, don't know where he is penned but will find him later in the show.

Cards/numbers are going up for judging so off to put Timmy and renegade into their judging pens to wait for the judge to lift them out. we can sit down and see the other cats being judged before its our cats turn. First Renegade - first of colour and first of division. Then Timmy, who lost out to Nedd, never mind we don't mind loosing to such an outstanding snow boy. After all, he is a Supreme Grand Champion for a reason.

We spend the whole of a wonderful show day socialising with new and old friends, and ours and their stunning cats and kittens.

we may not have finalled today, but we had a fabulous day at show. But then TICA shows are usually a good day as they are so friendly and always enjoyable.

saturday 14 feb 09

8am - we had a sleep in this morning - well, i sat in bed and listened to the news.
8.30am - Kelly, Sarah, Tim and myself all set to. its amazing how much work 4 people can get done in a day when you put your minds to it. i was able to up date some photo on my site and get some paperwork done that had been waiting months.
Kelly and Sarah's female Bengal is now relaxing in her heated bedroom and seems full of beans, so we are very hopeful everything will be alright for her to have a litter of baby Bengals.
we have decided that Kelly is a kitten whisperer as she is the one getting through to the "kitten from hell" an only kitten that has been spoilt rotten by his mother, never letting anyone near him to cuddle him. so he now refuses to let anyone touch him - apart from Kelly that is - he he!
5pm and its time to put dinner on. we settle down to a Chinese in amongst all the Bengal and Savannah kittens, leaving Kelly with the "kitten from hell".
I'm looking forward to the time when i can present this cuddly kitten to everyone telling them that he was the "kitten from hell".

13 February 2009

Friday 13th proved to be unlucky for Kelly and Sarah - they had snow and train delays so it took them an extra hour to get here.
no sooner here than they rolled their sleeves up and started going round checking out the cats and kittens.
12 noon and Sarah started on full English - she had promised Tim a full English breakfast when they were next here, and the rest of us just happen to be available to help them eat it all - he he!
1.30pm and Kelly and Sarah are rolling up their sleeves again to sweep, clean and spray one of our largest pens. Then on to the next pen, another large one needing cleaning before setting up for 3 of our Savannah girls who are having their rest before their next litters.
3.15pm its time to drive over to Boston to pick up Kelly and Sarah's Bengal girl from the vets.
Bengal girl is doing well, we set her up in a lovely warm, fully heated sleeping area here at Purebliss Cattery.
Then we all have a thoroughly enjoyable Indian meal.
Mona, Delli and Zelda (Mavis is visiting stud again) have a wonderful night as they have two more bodies to use as trampolines during their nights activities.
