slough tica show
Sunday 14 Feb '09
5pm First bath - Purebliss Renegade is put into the warm water and soaped up all over. he is very well behaved although a little confused. then a good rinse with warm water and towelled dry. then out with the hairdryer.
Katey arrives and we put Purebliss Optimus Prime (Timmy) into some nice warm water and soap him up all over. then a good rinse, towel dry and onto the hairdryer.
what good boys they are, a good brushing and a run around the kitchen whilst we have a slice of buttered toast each.
into their carriers and pack up the car with everything for the show.
6pm Set off for the slough TICA show.
Arrive at slough and park up. everything onto the trolley including renegade and Timmy.
give our names to poppi and then vetting in. allocated areas (we brought our sturdi pens), we go find our places for Timmy and renegade. Once unpacked we show Timmy and renegade around so that they don't worry about what is going on behind everything. they soon settle down and go back into their pens whilst we have bacon baps and a coffee/tea.
say hello to many of our friends we haven't seen since the last show or even a show last year. make some new friends who have come to their first tica show.
found out that Razzmatazz was at show, don't know where he is penned but will find him later in the show.
Cards/numbers are going up for judging so off to put Timmy and renegade into their judging pens to wait for the judge to lift them out. we can sit down and see the other cats being judged before its our cats turn. First Renegade - first of colour and first of division. Then Timmy, who lost out to Nedd, never mind we don't mind loosing to such an outstanding snow boy. After all, he is a Supreme Grand Champion for a reason.
We spend the whole of a wonderful show day socialising with new and old friends, and ours and their stunning cats and kittens.
we may not have finalled today, but we had a fabulous day at show. But then TICA shows are usually a good day as they are so friendly and always enjoyable.

Can I ask a really silly question? We have just caught the Bengal bug having acquired 3 who are now 9 months. We would love to start going to some cat shows to see more of the breed (and other breeds). Neither of us have ever been to one. Can we just turn up to one, or do you have to be a member of a particular club to get in, or are spectators not allowed?
Thanks

Look on the TICA site and click onto the show diary in the menu on the left of the page. this will tell you when and where the shows are. Come along to a TICA show and see the cats being shown/judged. From about 10am or 11am you can sit all day and see different breeds being juged and finalled. If you ask at the show managers area they will point me out and i will be happy to take you and introduce you to several bengal breeders and their gorgeous bengal cats.
GCCF shows are a little different - the public are allowed entry after about 12.30pm, when you can walk around to view the cats.
