night shift

Hand feeding some gorgeous snow Bengal babies, what a nightmare it can be when you loose the battle with one as we did Tuesday. But we have taken them all away from mum and have them on hot water bottles and under that is a heat pad to keep the hot water bottles warm. The movement in the hot water bottles comforts the babies whilst they sleep.
we have taken them back to their milk feeding and with lots of TLC we hope to bring them through. Next stage is to get them onto watered down pureed meat to allow their digestions to adapt slowly to the processed food. so far so good. Its now Thursday and they are starting to want to feed which makes things a whole lot easier.

Wednesday night/Thursday morning
I've no idea what time it was last night when i received the first phone call from Simon. Suki was having her babies and had a kittens tail showing. It was wonderful to hear the excitement of the first litter being born.
Then another phone call to say all was well with mum and her first kitten born, unfortunately the placenta had gone back inside but not to worry, there is plenty of time for it to come out later.
Another phone call tells me all is well and the placenta came out followed immediately by another wonderful snow Bengal kitten.
When Simon rang me this morning he sounded shattered but happy to see his gorgeous Suki and Scar with their gorgeous babies feeding contentedly.
All this time "scar" was laid by his Suki, keeping her safe and reassuring her when she had pain.
